SPEAKER

Robin Gist, Senior Associate at Babbé LLP

Robin is an Advocate and Senior Associate within the Dispute Resolution team at Babbé. He has extensive experience in civil litigation, litigation avoidance, employment law and general advisory work. He practices across the full range of dispute services, but has a particular focus on representing clients for court hearings. In addition, Robin advises on both contentious and non-contentious employments issues.

Robin joined Babbé in February 2020, after spending eight years at the Law Officers of the Crown in Guernsey as a civil litigation lawyer. In this role he worked across all aspects of civil litigation, litigation avoidance and general advisory work on behalf of the States of Guernsey. He regularly appears in the Bailiwick Courts, including the Court of Appeal. Prior to this he spent eight years in London where he practised at the Bar in chancery and commercial matters, appearing in the High Court and Court of Appeal, as well as in land and employment tribunals. He regularly appeared in and advised on all aspects of trusts law. Robin was called to the Guernsey Bar in 2014 and Bar of England & Wales in 2004.

Recently, Robin represented the Public Trustee in relation to non-performing trusts. Since joining Babbé he advised on all aspects of Guernsey trusts law.
