SPEAKER:

John Gilbert, Director At M&G Advisory Services Limited

Since qualifying as a solicitor in 1987 with Lovell White & King (now Hogan Lovells), John has specialised in advising mutual insurers on governance, corporate and regulatory matters. He has worked on most of the major developments in the sector over the last 30 years including with his firm’s team advising Equitable Life on the consequences of the judgment against it on Guaranteed Annuity Rate products and advising the industry generally on the governance implications of the subsequent enquiries. Although John has now retired as a solicitor, he continues to act as a consultant to the industry through M&G Advisory Services Limited, a joint venture between himself and Richard Martin, a former mutual insurance regulator with the Financial Conduct Authority.
