The 2019 Guernsey Funds CPD Seminar Series provides essential updates for those working in the funds sector, delivered by industry recognised experts. This series will comprise 10 monthly seminars of 60 minutes, inclusive of a 15-minute Q&A, covering a wide range of topics.

Christopher became Chair of the Guernsey Investment & Funds Association (GIFA) in April 2019 following three years as Vice Chair and having first been elected to the Executive Committee in April 2015. He joined GIFA’s Technical Committee in 2011 and became Chairman of that committee in November 2013, stepping down from that role in May 2016. Christopher has also been a member of the working groups for both AIFMD and MiFID II/MiFIR as well as various GIFA Working Groups and the GIIA ILS & Reinsurance Steering Group. He is a Council Member of the Guernsey International Business Association, Treasurer of the Association of Data Protection Officers, Vice President of the Guernsey Branch of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and a Member of the Channel Islands Committee of the Association of Investment Companies. In September 2016, Christopher founded Midshore Consulting Limited, a regulatory consultancy that specialises in both foreign and domestic regulation. One of Midshore’s key products is Compass, which offers services dealing with the global distribution and registration of Guernsey investment funds and other products. Prior to founding Midshore, Christopher was employed at Investec Asset Management Guernsey Limited for over twenty years, working in areas such as Fund Operations, Investment Operations, Investor Services, Portfolio Administration and Legal & Technical and holding roles such as Projects Manager, Operations Manager and Technical Director. Christopher has served as director of various open- and closed-ended corporate fund structures and ‘special purpose vehicles’ during his 20 year stint at Investec. He was also an alternate director to the General Partner for one of Investec’s Guernsey-based private equity funds. Christopher is active within the finance industry and attends industry events as well as giving guidance by authoring fact sheets and online training modules for those in the industry & its organisations. |
